After the world shut down due to Covid, my twenty year old cleaning business also came to a close. Crystal Clean serviced furniture showrooms, offices and residential properties in the High Point and Greensboro area of North Carolina. Covid canceled furniture markets and unused offices didn’t need cleaning. Residents stayed in there homes, children didn’t go to school and over the course of the year my business came to an abrupt end. As an entrepreneur and the owner I learned to managed my own scheduling, maintain a professional relationships with recurring clients, advertise to obtain new clients, manage employees while maintaining a steady revenue of income for employees and myself. A year after my business closed it’s doors, I became sick with Coronavirus and shorty after suffered a monoclonal antibodies infusion injury. I became bedridden off and on for the next two years. During this time, I learned about Royson Solly and his ministry feeding the children living in Kenya. Pastor Wayne Shortt, my uncle and the Pastor over my family church, had a year long partnership with Royson and together with the church’s support they fed two public school in the most poverty stricken areas of Nairobi Kenya. I prayed about what I could do to help in this mission. I began writing children’s books and I taught myself graphic design so I could illustrate my own books. On most days laying in bed and writing was the only thing I could physically do. After seeing specialists and experiencing reoccurring ER visits, I was diagnosed with Dysautonomia. The cause of the condition was due to the coronavirus and the monoclonal antibody infusion I had received, which attacked my autonomic nervous system. Today, I am back on my feet. God is healing me. I feel better and I am becoming stronger everyday. I was inspired when I heard a wise man say “Let your disability become your ability” because this is what I am pressing to achieve. I hope to continue writing and illustrating children's book to raise money to feed children living in poverty stricken communities. I am beyond grateful to be a member and one of the founders of Delta of Hope International. We plan to share the gospel of Jesus Christ while we feed the children porridge, beans and rice. Starting our missions and ministry in Kenya and working our way around the globe in whatever direction God may lead us.
